Military Service

Since President Bush took office, the political right has spent entirely too much time portraying the Democrats/Left/Liberals as being "un-American" and "traitors."  Now they've added "cut and run" to their limited vocabulary.  You and I know that there have been both Democrats and Republicans who have served their country with great honor.

But there are men like Representative Saxby Chambliss of Georgia who unjustly questioned the patriotism of his political opponent, Max Cleland, who lost two legs and an arm in Vietnam.  If that was all Chambliss could offer to demean his opponent, he had a pretty shabby chance of winning.  But win, he did.  I think it would be a good idea to show the military background of some of our office-holders in Washington.  Here are a few links to give you something to play with:

Chicken Hawks:  Those gallant individuals who fight for the right to fight... then want someone else to go and do their dirty work.
